In 2008, Tony Raney was between a defunct band and a difficult move that would change his life forever. From that period of turmoil, Tony produced the batch of songs that would comprise Zoonosis. With the addition of John Westberry on drums and remixes, Zoonosis takes the vibrant sonic palette of Soft & Dirty and perfects it with impeccable musicianship and a much-refined recording environment. From the adolescent frustration of "Folie A Deux" to the despair of failed love in Azriel Draw," Zoonosis gives voice to a character falling, pinned down, and trapped without hope, yet clawing frantically for escape. It is an album that, like its protagonist, wants to go in a thousand different directions at once.

"Zoonosis. Years had passed since Soft and Dirty. I bounced around. I had moved to Nashville, formed a band, watched it implode, and then wondered, what now? I was working as a barista in East Nashville. I was thinking a lot about how music had changed my life over and over again. I had let it be my guide, my mistress, my fall, my transformation. I was trying to dust myself off. Evolve somehow. That's what Zoonosis was to me. Leaving the husk. A metamorphosis. Trying to see what colors would arrive from the ether." -TR
